'The Invention of Wings' Debuts at #1 on New York Times

The Invention of Wings will debut at #1 on the New York Times bestseller list (January 26, 2014) for Print Hardcover Fiction,  E-Book Fiction, and Combined Print & E-Book Fiction. It will also debut at #1 for Hardcover Fiction on the Indie Bestseller list,  Publishers Weekly and others.

New Novel by Sue Monk Kidd to Be Published

‘K’ is for Kidd's The Secret Life of Bees

The Secret Life of Bees debuted May 7, 2013 as part of a collectible new series of books from Penguin Classics. Known as Penguin Drop Caps, the series is composed of twenty-six hardcover editions of fine works of literature, each featuring on its cover a gorgeously illustrated letter of the alphabet. The series features unique cover art by Jessica Hische, a superstar in the world of type design and illustration. Penguin Drop Caps debuted earlier this year with an ‘A’ for Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, a ‘B’ for Charlotte Brontë’s Jane Eyre, and continues with other perennial classics from Penguin.

Jim and Carol Ney Literary Award

Sue was presented with the Jim and Carol Ney Literary Award on October 20, 2012 at a black tie gala in the Atlanta area. The award is presented annually by the Cobb County Library Foundation “to honor extraordinary books and exceptional authors who not only enrich readers but move hearts and souls and change lives.”
